Sell me a little on the BK2.

I like what seems to be a contradiction in terms with modern knives, that is, being able to cut well and yet be sturdy. While I like the feel of my Ka-Bar, it's thick enough at the edge as to really cut down on its cutting ability.

The BK2 looks like the perfect compromise. Thick enough to be fairly sturdy, but thin enough to actually cut well by virtue of being flat ground. However, money is a bit on the tight side at the moment. Thus, if I buy it, it's going to be my last knife for a while.

I'm reasonably hard on knives, but I know how to use them properly. Nothing I have ever had has broken, though they all bear scars from hard use. It would be taking its licks with a construction regimen, though not used to pry or anything abusive. My go to knife at the moment is a Mora, though I'd like something a little beefier.

Making it worse, is the fact that I won't be able to actually handle one before buying. I tend to like handles with a little meat on them, my standard for slip joint is four and a half inches, my standard for fixed blade about the same.

So, that's the rub. $60 that would come hard unless it's going to earn its keep. What do you think? Can you sell me on this one?

Compromise? We don't do compromise here in Becker town. You want slicin? We got that. You want to beat a tree down? Yeah, that's right, beat it down, not cut it, we got that too. You want to make a hole in a cinder block cause it looked at your lady wrong? BK2 has that covered in spades. And sharp? How many knives you know can cut an olive into 27 slices? This isn't the last knife you buy for awhile, this is the last knife you need to buy ever. Earn it's keep? This thing is enough to earn your keep, not just it's own. Fill out the proper paperwork and this thing can legally go to work for you, but watch out, if you are married, the missus might get some ideas, this guy earns, and looks good doing it.

Cut, chop, pry, hammer, drill, you name it, this thing does it well. It is by far one of the best all around knives you are ever going to get.

You don't like it? Any one of us will buy it off you. I would even pay the full price and the shipping. Go get one.

Last weekend I used my BK-2 to chop onions and bell peppers for omelets. This weekend, I beat it tip first into a log then proceeded to split that log.

derek, if you're not a salesman I think you missed your true calling in life haha, that made me want to go out and buy another bk2

I'll try and sell it a little bit.
Alot of knives and knife designs come and go over the years. A select few stay in production for 20 plus years or longer. You got the Buck 110 and KA-BAR USMC F/U knife just to name a couple. The BK2 is the same way, it's a no frills simple design that just works and has for a very long time, try one out, you won't be disappointed.

Get one and if you don't like it you can always give it to one of us :D

Don't own one yet? No big deal. You just miss out on one of life's greatest experiences. It's the same as dying a virgin. No big deal though, you can live without it.

Go buy a BK2 for your BK2

Dude, piggyback a BK2 on your BK2. I seriously want to see this happen now.

But who would want to live without it?

Okay, let's put this in perspective. I have an addictive personality. I love to spend money, and I love knives. I STOPPED BUYING KNIVES after I got my BK2. Done. Don't need anymore. The "Brutus" is a flight of fancy that keeps the OCD voices in my skull quiet, but ultimately, BK2 did it for me.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll shave a few bucks off my next couple Kaplan paychecks and grab it. You actually made my wife LOL with that sales pitch.

I would like to offer my sway to this fray.

Ok, 30yrs old design, $65 delivered to your door.

Nothing that you will ever need to do with a knife, cannot be done with the BK2

The harshest test, I have ever issued to my BK2, was to drive it into a fatwood stump, and kick the side of it to break the stump in half. BK2 won, stump, did not.

Its as clost to "The knife" that I have found.

From making toothpicks to making shelters, from butterflying shrimp, to field dressing a hog, it will do it all. I guarantee you, if you get a BK2, you will see why it COULD be the last knife you'll buy. But it won't be. :D

I'd take my BK2 with me to Hell and back. Heck, I could probably use it to pry open the Gates and the thing might only have a smudge to say it was there.

This knife is a compact tank that will help build your shelter, split your fire wood and cut up your camp chow. If you need fire fast, bust open a stump with it and slice up some fat wood. Forgot the can opener ?, bust the can open with the 2. This knife can save your farticus maximus in the bush.:thumbup:

You want us to sell you on it, well, WE CAN'T...
The Bk2 sells itself.
Ethan is a great guy, so buy one of his knives.

Sure...
