Hey, it's been a while!

I have a 16 I want to upgrade the scales on, but I'm not sold on the factory micarta... And apparently, saints is no longer making g10 scales?

Is the factory Micarta THAT nice? How badly is it going to discolor over time? Are they thicker than the factory scales? Should I get them or hold out for some TKC g10, if they ever come?

Dang it, I want this knife to look and feel as nice as it should! Help me out please! :)

Yes. Not bad. Not really, about the same, but I have had one set a little thicker than the rest. Get them now, don't hold out, save the g10 for your next tweener.

The looks of micarta is what it is. Some love it, some don't. What I think micarta really has going for it is grippiness combined with durability, and the fact that it looks good rough finished, unlike most other materials. I personally prefer multi-colored G10 or nice wood, but for a user knife, it's hard to go wrong with micarta.

I have the Micarta on both of my Neckers. In my opinion, the Micarta is pretty nice and it is worth it. It has a cool feel and it looks nice. It soaks up sweat and stuff a good amount. On the one I carry it has soaked in a little more on the right side than the left from my palm. After it soaks stuff up it feels like waxed fabric kind of. I doubt it'd be hard to clean with dish soap or something similar. I just gets a little bit darker with use but in my opinion it looks cool. Takes on a slightly reddish sheen.

Oops, was trying to move a different thread and this one got moved by mistake. Hopefully it shall be moved back shortly. My bad. :(
