Sell or keep my second ZDP Delica?

I ordered a Delica ZDP-189 in late June and didn't get one of the first runs. I wasn't sure if the Knifecenter was going to be able to fullfill my order, so when I saw one for sale on one of the forums for $100, I bought it.

Well the Knifecenter came through and now I have two of them. So now I'm wondering what to do. Should I put the new one up for sale for $100 or should I keep it? I'm not looking to make any money off it, I just don't know if I want a second one sitting around hoping it goes up in value. What would you do?

I don't know, I think they could only go down in value. There will be another run of ZDP delicas.

Sell it now or look like a fool when the market is ZDP saturated and you get less than what you paid for it.

The prices have already dropped on them, and they're not likely to go back up to what they were.

I am personally the type to give my spare to someone who can't afford one or due to circumstances or whatever, missed out on getting one. And if I was so inclinded to sell it, my consciene would not allow me to sell it for more than I paid. but, Like I said, I am the type that would rather give it away. But, that is just me. And I did this with my spare Calypso, Jr. ZDP.

Hey, glad to see you here also...

I remember when youn did that... It was a hell of a shock :)

It was more than nice of you,

take care and see you around.

Thanks for the replies. That was a cool idea Gollum, I like the way it came out for you.

I put the knife up for sale for $105, that'll probably be a couple of dollars loss after shipping but I would like to put the cash back in hte coffers so I'll be ready when I spot my next 'must have'. ;)

I know I've heard that Spyderco will have more ZDP models, but I wonder how many will be solid ZDP? The Jess Horn was laminated and William Henry knives are all laminated. I was pretty suprised to see that the Delica was solid, I think that may make it a rarity in the future.

So if it sells great, if it doesn't then I'll just keep it as a back up or perhaps gift it as TKC suggested.
