Seller calls this a Mule Team...what gives?

I was pretty sure that the mules are all flat ground. And i've seen a mule in S90V but not S30V maybe the seller has the wrong picture/name.

I think I remember seeing one like that before in a previous thread, but it was like a european or japanese only release.

Yup we went over this already, i posted about it a while ago.

its a special run Mule team (is that a oxymoron??) that Spyderco made for woodcraft.com

You can buy them from them, i have 3 of them and love it. Its S30V, hollow ground a gets a mean edge. I like it... a little different from other Mules, so you cant put on halpern handles on them.

Here is a link to the actual product woodcraft sells, not pushing it, just giving you info to the legitimacy of the knife.

Kristi has already clarified that it is NOT a mule, just a special run for Woodcraft and was mislabeled by them.

Thanks--that was very informative.

Scroll down his listing, he clarifies that it's a Bushcraft.

No, he clarifies that it's a Woodcraft.

Not a Mule team it is a Woodcraft

Guess the clarification wasn't clear enough. ;) FWIW, blade is marked S30V. The Bushcraft is O-1 but the Woodcraft exclusive "mule" is S30V.

I didn't see that at first. Seems like he should change his listing title rather than just adding a little line of text at the bottom.
Except that Woodcraft refers to them as Mules and Kristi posted the following when the question was raised on the Factory Forum 11 months ago...

The FB27P is an exclusive for Woodcraft Supply. They worked with Sal on the design. We all felt it was important to differentiate the FB27 from our standard Mule Team. It is, by design, still a Mule.

Kristi

Based on that, I'd say calling it a "Mule" is not inappropriate.

I might be mistaken, but I think Kristi expleined that it was not a typical Mule but it still is one, and woodcraft was allowed by Spyderco to use their Mule title and as of yet have not required woodcraft to remove that wording from their listing. I would guess spyderco/Sal feels comfortable with that.

On another note, it really is a great blade, a little different ergonomics, grind and more of a belly. I can see where hunters might appreciate this one more if they are looking for a stainless blade. The hollow grind makes this even more of a slicer then my S35V standard Mule.

More like a generic "mule" than part of the "Mule Team" that we've been hitching up for two years.

The little test line added at the end means he already had a bid. Once an auction gets bids thats the only way to add or change things.
