Hi, it seems the format for selling has changed some since I last put something up. I just put some tools up on WTT on the trading forum. They are also for sale, but haven't posted it in "for sale by individuals". My questions are: Should (can I) I post in both? Should I post on the For Sale and mention I take trades? Can I show links to my Ebay & Craigs List ads ? I'm not in business. I did this as a hobby and haven't made a knife in 6 years because of my back.

Advice to do this & follow rules would be appreciated!

AFAIK yes you can list in both WTT and For sale by individuals, although it is better just to list in FS by individuals and mention you take trades so you arent being redundant and using up unecessary bandwidth. The FS forum/s get more traffic anyway.

The posting of Ebay and Craigslist ads or links to them are not allowed anywhere on the forum.

Also, unless you have a knifemaker/craftsman/service provider membership, your sig line link to your business is not allowed.

The business does not not exist anymore. I haven't made or sold a knife in 6 years & I'm selling my equipment. It's just a personal gallery of past work. Also, there is nothing on there other than my phone number to call me about the power hammer I have in the ad on the forum. I can't really see the harm. There is no content leading to any commercial interest. Basically, I've left the link to my site for years just to share.

Regardless - If, given what I just said in the previous paragraph, you still deem that I am in flagrant violation of the rules, just say so and I'll remove it & I won't share any more. Last, I'm sorry but I have to say I have to say that even though I have been on this forum for many years, and I put up an honest post to make sure I did this right, in recent times, it seems I can't do anything without doing something wrong.

Just my opinion.

Bob,

It's a shame you are no longer crafting knives. You do some very nice work. You have several styles that i love.
If the Supermods have no problem with your link, then i don't either. My only concern would be others seeing it and thinking they can have their knifemakers site linked without the appropriate level of membership. I hope you understand that quandry.
Perhaps if you just added some type of disclaimer to your sig that it's only a gallery with no knives for sale? Maybe that would solve the quandry. Just trying to help you stay outta trouble.

Great idea! I'll get on it & thanks for the kind words & help...
