I used to have a 71 Dodge Demon street racer with a built up 340,very fast.I feel your pain.Have you tried here or at a local gun and knife show.I have done very well at our local shows.Good luck and hope you get it. Dave:)

I'll put it this way...I have a '73 Swinger that's about to be for sale and I'm looking for $5000-6000 from it. $1000 is a steal, if it doesn't need a lot of work. :)

maybe some paint and a little rust work that is very small by the rear tires. also the inside is super no cracks in the dash. but the front seat on the driver side has tares in the spot where your but goes. but every other inside thing is great. hat kind of gas mil does it get. mine has a v8 motor

$1000??? Whats wrong with it is my first thought...........cool car though. Thats awfully cheap for a car with custom work.....

Gotta love MOPAR muscle cars.Back in the day I've had 65' Barracuda, 68'Roadrunner and 69' sattelite. Sweet cars but I don't think you'll be able to keep gas in it. If it's got a 318, pull it out (pigs). Go with 340 or 383. Nice memories but in this day and age they are dinosaurs.
I'de keep the knives, assuming they aren't chinese knock-offs. Good luck.

MPG depends on which v8, what's been done to it over the years, etc. My '73 is a 318 2bbl. Great motor, but won't be winning any awards at the gas pump. The one thing that I've always done with "classic" cars is make a conscious decision to ignore economy. They are not modern cars, and came from an era where gas was as cheap as water. If you need it to be practical, keep on moving and keep your knives :)

I sell my knives at the local art gallery, and I have sold a few On ebay.
Some of the magazines have for sale sections. I am in Australia the Australasian Knife Collectors (AKC) do there may be a market there but our dollar is running about 75c us to $1 Aust so they will seem a little expenzive to the locals. Keeping in mind some collectors are wealth people (god bless them)

If your talking collectable knives the art gallery is not the way. You need to be in the right market place. the local flea market you may be bombarded with idiots offering you pennies for your collectables or you may get the someone who knows there worth.

With your chosen car it may have resale problems in 12 months 2 years as the fuel keeps going up but if your prepared to write it off to something you wanted to do while you could good luck and i hope you enjoy it.

it has the 340 i think, i know that it sucks up the gas but that is not whay i want it. i onley work about 1-2 mil from my house so i dont drive much. i also want to fix it up, it a good invest ment. it has been sitting sence 1997 but was ane every day driver befor that. my boss owns it that is why i can get it cheep, he does not know what its worth or even what it is. its sitting be hind our shop and still has air in all the tires

A friend of mine had a green one of those that we called "The Magic Bus". We had some wild rides in that beast.

Early Mopars are bringing BIG bucks. If you like it then borrow the money and get it. $1000 is dirt cheap if it's any good, you can't lose money on this deal (if it's any good) Don't worry about MPG, just enjoy it and sell it for a big profit when you get tired of it.

these cars seam to be quite expensive these days, and it will be a good project. im going to the bank and getting a car lone for 3 years for 3 bucks a month and ill sell my knives as i go to pay it off in a year.

Your boss isn't into knives? Make a trade with him, maybe throw in some extra knives or something. He (she?) sure may like having some beautiful handmade (I assume) knives in exchange for getting rid of the junky car in the back of the shop. You never have said anything about your collection, as to what it is, etc. I mean, if you have been collecting original Scagels for the past few years, then I might be inclined to give you $1,000 for them:D

JT, I'm not sure that you have fully done your homework on the bank thing yet. $3 per month, 3 years, to pay off $1,000??? I'd like the name of your bank:p

sorry it was 31.95 a month, ya 3 bucks a month would be sweet. i do custome knives and right nw im finishing up some very very sweet slip joint folders. I allwase have a hard time selling my knives because when there done i love them to much and cant part with them. but for this car i think i can make an exception. no my boss hates knives, one time i brought a foldar i was working on that was all disasembled and did was not even sharpend and i had it sitting on my bench. when he saw it he fliped out saying that he never wants to see me with a knife ever agen. he said that if i have a knife people will pick a fight with me and then get the cops and tell them i thretend them with a wepon. i wanted to tell him to kiss my ass, but i need my job. he hates fireworks to, i gave a cowork some of thos snaps you through on the groud and thay pop. he told him not to take them because thy are very danguris and that it was bad for his kids to use them.

(insert evil laugh here) If there is rust you can see there is more than likely a lot more rust you can't see just waiting to come through the paint. In the rocker pannels, the doors, in the window channels,Floor pans trunk pans, Body pannels tend to rust from the inside out where water and moisture get trapped, Very rare is the solid completely original 35 year old vehicle, even more rare is one at bargan basement prices.

what should i check then to make shure that its ok? but i think for 1000 bucks anything is good
