Selling knives to passarounds

Just a note here, we have quite a bit of passaround moeny sitting around waiting to be spent on a custom knife.

Some makers have provided evaluation knives for free, that's very much appreciated surely. However we do have real moeny to spend as well.

Usually what happens is we commision or buy a knife at a small discount, then after the passaround we're free to continue the passaround or sell it. The knife maker gets good feedback, and often new sales out of the process. We've spent between $100 and $225 on knives before So that's our current comfort level.

SO if you have an idea or a proposal stop in the passaround forum and let us know.

Thanks.

Dave, I posted the group in my Passaround Feeler post and never heard a response back so I figured people had lost interest. I'd be more than happy to get a passaround going. I guess I'd be open to having people look at my site and see what they like/get an idea for something that would really appeal to the people in the group...

Dave, never got a response to my proposal so I assumed there was no interest. I'm still up for doing it.

I'll have to review what it was, sorry. My impression was things where on hold.

Scott I reviewed the PM's. I think we're stuck in the same situation as Chiro75. I don't think quite at the point where we can commision a knife from scratch*.

I think it would be much easier if there was something we could look at that was finished or nearly so, so people could decide if they liked it or not.

* In this thread, Ken was able to put some pictures up of what the proposed knife would be like, we then payed for the knife and had it built. Ken played the role of the "salesman" if you will and it worked out fine.

Are you looking for a specific size in a fixed blade? I have these available for sale in the knifemakers for sale forum or I can make one that is scaled down. These have 4 1/4" blades and 8 1/2" overall.
