Selling knives

Just do some research about how much the knives you have are selling for; what condition they’re in... and figure out how much you want to net from the sale. Then there is shipping, insurance, and PP fees...

Another thing that might help is setting up a poll on your sales thread. You could put answers like

“I like it, but too much”
or
“Don’t have funds”
Or other things that might help you get a feel for what people are thinking about your post...

This is just an idea, and I haven’t seen anybody actually do it; but, I mean it seems like a good idea

Welcome to the forum!

Thank you Richard. I wonder, could I post pics and descriptions of the knives and ask members what the values should be, hoping to get responses from members who have enough experience to help put a value on them? I've called around in my area looking for appraisals and everyone wants money up front as a percentage of the value of the knives and I don't have the money for that seeing as how they are expensive knives. I want to sell a couple of Lum knives and a Loveless.

You could make a post in the sale section. Post a price and add or best offer.

For knives in that price range, do your homework, and make sure you k ow how to safely ship/transport them when the time comes.

Yes. As a Gold member with the ability to sell, you can post threads inquiring of the value of your knives.

• Post current photos - the more details the better.

• Provide an accurate description of condition. If not absolutely brand new, share the extent of how not brand new, and absolutely reveal any issues.

• These are the minimums.

Good plan to review a bunch of EXCHANGE threads and get a feel of what works and what doesn't. If your reaction is negative - you wouldn't buy a knife based on the info/lack of info in this thread, or alternatively - this thread has it all - take head.

My 2¢.
