Where does everyone usually go to sell knives and stuff? I have a knife and a katana I'm trying to get rid of in order to pay my last student bill, and while I would ordinarily sell on eBay, prices and bidding on my type of items have been depressed lately. Are there any other auction sites that anyone uses that sell well for knives?

Depending on what you expect to get on here, shell out 25 bucks and see what happens, I've been a Gold member for about a month now, it's slow, but I've only been on here a month, two months since I joined the site.

Depending on the type and number of knives you might be best served by becoming a Gold Member and selling here. There are plenty of other good reasons to go for a paid membership, but I won't try and sell it to you. Honestly though if it is only a few cheap knives then Ebay can also work if you already have an account with them.

Personally I have only bought and sold my knives right here. I have had nothing but positive experiences, and I believe that TGB&U is a better tool than Ebay's system. Selling here you are more likely to get a fair price for the knife, where as on Ebay it could go either way depending on your luck.

Hmm, they're not cheap knives, it's a TOPS and a Paul Chen katana, but is it really worth it to buy a gold membership just to sell two things?

Nobody but you can decide that. If all you ever want to do is sell those two items and then disappear into the mist then it might not be worth it to you. If you plan to stick around a bit it might be worth the money. Just keep in mind that the membership is good for one year, so you can also sell any other knives you might want to in that period.

Look at where the market is strongest. I don't follow those two brands, but if it's stronger on Ebay go to Ebay. If it's stronger here, sell here.

As far having a dealer sell your stuff, be warned they usually ask 25-35% of the selling price. It's probably not worth it for current production stuff.

As far as buying a Gold membership, looking at it from a purely selfish stand point, it could be worth it for you:

1) $25/2= $12.50 listing price. I've got to think it's competitive with Ebay in that regard.

2) You're usually dealing with experienced knife folks on this site, that might cut down on the aggravation of selling.

3) Many times odd, relatively high end factory brands do better here than on Ebay.
