Selling on Bladeforums question?

Hi, I'm relatively new to this site and I'm curious am I allowed to provide a link to my knives on the Bladeforums selling section that I currently have for sale on ebay? Please confirm, and thanks. John (dizzyfoxx)

You can't link to live auctions. You could link to the auction you bought it in. I wouldn't link any that you are the seller in.

Welcome back!

First, you'll need a Gold Membership to sell on the site.

Second, ads in the sales section need to have a set price. No auctions allowed.

I know you're not allowed to post to live eBay auctions/sales in the discussion forums. Not sure about linking your straight sale eBay ad to your for sale ad in the exchange. I would advise against it. A mod could answer this with more clarity.

Might as well just take the 5 minutes and create your own ad in the respective section. Some people do post that it is located for sale in other places as well and they will usually state that it will be sold by time stamp.

For sales, if you are going to sell something on eBay, then sell it on eBay. Don't link it here, period. Linking to any auction/lottery site for the purposes of a sale is not allowed, unless you are a manufacturer (Emerson, Spyderco, etc in which case it would happen in your own subforum; or a maker with your own subforum). You can reference a link where the item was previously sold and is now closed, if it is part of a discussion and it is pertinent to the topic.

A Gold membership is required to sell here, and a basic membership is required to start a trade thread. This is the result of so many people abusing the system that was in place.

WHat would be easier is to read the Exchange rules.
