If you were going to sell your collection of Buck Knives, would you part them out or sell as a collection? My only son doesn’t share my enthusiasm collecting knives or firearms.

If you were going to sell your collection how would you go about it?

Tough call. If you could get to one of the big knife shows you should be able to move a lot of them there. Depends on what you have also, $100-$300 things are easier to move than a super rare $3k item. Piecing it out is often better to max your return, or sell sets of similar items. If you sell your entire collection it is tough to find someone who has your interest and they may be buying it for some things that they want knowing they have to sell the other 1/2 of it. That said, one lump sum is easier on you. So, sort of a time/return question that only you can answer.

I would sell choice things off and then look for a lump some on the rest to keep it simple and fast.

Another route you may consider is call a person that handles All items Buck. He has the connections and you don't have to package them, drive
to shows and pay for a table and man it for 2 days. Just meet with him and he looks at what you have and will set up an arrangement both of you like. DM

Can't believe no one is suggesting to sell them here. You're already a gold member. I'd bet this forum has more buck collectors than any gun show you will go to. Give a discount for buying multiple items. You could always sell stuff a little at a time. Shipping stuff in small flat rate boxes is really convenient.

I agree!!!!

I agree. Post them on here, on the BCCI website, and or facebook yourself. If you sell them piece by piece you will do better than if you sell the collection.
Most people buying a complete collection will want a good deal which is sometimes not a bad thing if you don't want to take the time to piece them out.

selling all in one batch wont drive or get prices as high....if that matters. cuts down the amount of bidders/buyers as many wont have enough to even bid on it or purchase, etc. of course depending on how rare and large your collection is.....

This site is probably the best bet to sell off the collection for maximum value with the most efficient time and money invested. You're already set up to sell so you can list off pieces or multiples and see what happens.

The reason I mentioned Larry is that he just sent out a list of I don't know how many knives to BCCI members to buy other peoples knives...

^ pretty good idear for serious buck collectors/bcci members. although it's hard to get on or I guess stay on Larry's list. I've bought this year from him....never get any emails from him.

I've bought some off of Larry Oden's list 4 or 5 times and if I had a bunch to sell he's the guy. Fair price too..The biggest benefits of his list is collectors of all different models of Bucks buy from it..He will tell you what true market value is but I think you set the price.. Edit got any odd 112's?

I would keep them as long as they brought me joy. Even if your son don't want them, he can sell them when he gets them.

Thats what Im gonna do..
Im Keeping a list of knives with price, model number/name, it will help my family know it’s approximate $ value to recover, after Im gone.
