I'd prefer not to buy a PCP gun. I'd like something that works off 88gram or paintball CO2/HPA/nitrogen cylinders. I want a muzzle velocity of 500FPS or greater. Full auto is a plus.

Out of curiosity, what are you buying this for? Plinking, massacre of small animals that poop on your driveway, the gas man?

All of the above. Nothing exceding 50 meters.

I'd prefer to sling lead, thank you.

Go for the RWS 850 AirMagnum in 22 cal. It has an 8 shot clip and is semi auto. Recycle the bolt and you are ready for the next shot. There is not much choice in the gas cart powered guns as people either use the simple springers or go the PCP way for brute power.

Depending on where you live an airgun with certain features may be considered a firearm, as is the case in Illinois.( over .117 or 700fps is considered a firearm)

If you want something that has full auto and runs on co2, look at the IZH Drozd.

There are a bunch of different options and styles for this gun, 12g co2, 88g co2, paintball tank, different colors, and stocks.

Also it is not true full auto but 6rnd burst. IMHO this is better as full auto wastes gas like crazy and from a paintball tank can cause the gun to freeze.

ETA-All full auto guns will be BBs and not pellet guns. Semi-auto pellet guns must use a revolver style mechanism to ensure the pellets are lined up for each shot. Steel BBs will ricochet like crazy and not be as accurate at longer ranges.

Check out the RWS 850 like has been mentioned. It's well under your budget and has good reviews. It comes in .22 or .177 and is well above your desired FPS in both. (Uses the 88 gram power source too)
I considered buying one, but I went with the springers for my usage. (pest birds mainly)
This link will show you some reviews and give you an idea about the the gun.

Try a FX Monsoon or a FX Revolution you might be able to find one used (otherwise its 700+). Or a SKAN R32 if you can find one and while its not top notch for the cost its a good value a Hatsan (AT44 or similar PCP) is worth looking into same goes for a LOGUN (brand).

EDIT:

If you do get a Monsoon look into DYNAMIC PCP for some pellets. I'd also say read some reviews on what you want, especially on the FX line. I'd stay away from the crossman CO2 line though.
