I posted a multi-device review today over on the Axe forum comparing a couple of axes, a couple of knives, and a saw for cutting up 3"ish branches. I realized after I posted that I think I meant to post it here. So, anyway, here's the link.

If a mod wants to move that thread here, or lock this one if this post is inappropriate, either is fine by me.

Thanks!

Good post, folks should follow that link for a good chopping Test.

I learned something. thanks!

Hi fox that is a very good post. Like you i dont use the Axe much unless i go camping. I posted about a week ago about convex edge i put on a colling axe. Its a 1 1\4lb head. I had an old log of heart wood. I worked pretty hard with a spliting wedge and an 8lb sledge hammer to break them. When i took my axe to it. i had it bite about an inch into the wood with out realy trying. After about 20 chops i checked the edge with my finger just to cut my finger open. Thats the first time i ever put a convex edge on anything. With an axe it sure cuts so much better and holds the edge. Now that would be the first thing i do on all my edges. Im sure you would find that it cuts better for you too.

Great post Im sure Milage will vary for evryone but I like to see things in action before I try them.

And I know what you mean about cheap hatchets I just grabbed a crappy one from My mothers basement to split some logs for her fireplace and it nearly bounced off the wood. I ended up using my Kbar and a baton. Next time I bring one of my hatchets
