This started on the home forum but since most of you guys are probably swarmming back here to deal with withdrawls I though I'd post here.

This is the used BA-E I bought not too long ago. It had been reprofiled and in doing so about .25 inches of coating along the blade was removed. So I though I'd make it a satin blade. But I left the rest of the knife coated to protect the handle, spine, etc... And for some reason I just like this look. I still have some work to do to achieve the desired satin finish but here it is for starters.

Cool, what did you use to strip the coating off?

I used SAVOGRAN Heavy Duty Super Strip. I used two coatings, 15 minutes each time, and just scraped off the coating. Not the strongest but it's what I am using on a few projects around the house. Then I used a 3M wheel attachment for my drill and made sure to keep the heat low. Still a little bit of work to do but I am happy with it.
