So just got my new knife from John and it is a winner. John I know you aren't in the habit of doing polished micarta but they look great and I appreciate you doing that for me. Toxic green liners are nice and add a bulk to the handle and it fills the hand nicely. Came sharp as expected and has a nice squared spine for using a ferro rod. Will be carrying this for the nest few days and report back but wanted to go ahead and post up some beauty shots. Pictures really don't do this one justice. It looks great. The sheath is well made too and has a metal clip for lefty carry which is always a plus for me. Thanks John!!! :)

Looks like a tank, love those slabs of polished goodness. Nice knife, enjoy and report back with usage information and of course some user pics. Happy new year!!

That looks like a great knife. I love the contrast in the handles.

You know I never even thought about contoured handles, you're right that would have been cool. I'm happy with it. Maybe John can throw some contour on the next knife. (hint, hint) Yep, it arrived safe and sound John. Many thanks it's a beaut! Myker I will most certainly report back. Got some tree limbs in the yard that need broken down and I think this s just the tool for the job. They aren't very big.

Contours are available on any micarta handle knife, all a customer needs to do is request them. I just figured since the original one of these was not contoured, that none would be.

No complaints here John. Very happy with the knife but you can go ahead (if you haven't started yet) and add some to the one I have on order. If not, no big deal. I am really liking this knife a lot.

Posing with my favorite little BHK Drover.

*SNAP*

It just occurred to me why I liked this knife so much. I am a big fan of BHK Knives and one of my favorite models is the Bushcrafter. I see some of the same clean lines on this knife as on the Bushcrafter. I will say that the finger groove on the JK really locks your finger in tighter than on the BHK. Blade is different too but they do kind look similar. Maybe 3rd cousins.

is that top knife a BHK maverick colt? I like BHK knives as well, it's a good comparison now you say it.

No it's a baby bushcrafter like the one right below it. The handles on the black and green micarta one are a bit thicker though.

Very nice looking knife. Love the liners and blade shape. Great work on this knife. I'm sure it will fly off your fabrication table.

Lovin' the Wharnie, cool choice on the liners.
I like the BHK Bushcrafter too,but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet & now that I have a Semi Wharnie comin',I probably never will.

Hi Liveit -

Nice - I like the contrast of your handle materials, and the polished micarta is cool!

I hope you don't mind, but I'll post pics of my Modified Wharncliffe that came in the mail this week -

I ordered mine with the thinnest material that John works with to make it a slicer for the kitchen, and also I ordered maple burl with red liners. My example has a 1" longer blade than his standard design, again, aiming for the perfect kitchen knife with this one.

My wife used it today to cut up some potatoes, and it worked splendidly. I did not take pictures, she did the work before I even knew she had out the new knife!

Also pictured is a 112 Buck that John did new handle scales on - it came out beautiful! Thanks John!

When John uses the thinner material (1/16" I think - measured out the Kitchen Knife at .0618") he cannot stamp his familiar K into the blade tang. Instead, he will stamp his K into one of the handle pins!

I don't mind at all... we can make this whole thread about this model and yours is beautiful. Love the wood on that one. Looks perfect with the Buck!
