Does anyone know if Dan from Semper Paratus is on vacation or something? I have a sheath he made for a SF NO, but it is too tight and the knife will not fit all the way in. I am going to sell the knife, but want to get the sheath fit right first. Unfortunately, Dan is not answering my emails (it has been about 2 weeks since the 1st). Does anyone know what is up?

I had Dan make me a sheath for my SFNO too and he said there had been some variation in thickness that caused that problem. He was leaning toward asking customers to send in their knife so the liner could be made for that specific knife as custom fit kydex will sometimes require.
I received my sheath before my NO and I ended up getting the Fat SFNO which is .05" thicker. He had a new liner made for me. Try not to buger up that liner by forcing it. Measure the thickness on your knife...you may have been lucky enough to get a fatty!
Dan will take care of you though. Hang in there. He is a one man show and the wait is worth it for the individualized care you get from him IMO.

Roger that Dunners. I figured the fit problem was probably due to production variations, but just wanted to know if anyone had heard from him. With one-man shops, if a family illness comes up or something, it means you often just cannot get information on what is going on. No forcing going on. I tried to sheath it once, it stopped with about an inch left to go, I carefully checked the fit to make sure it was not some stupid problem, and then emailed Dan.
I also have to ask him for a combo pouch for a Longbow ECO flashlight and Gerber Diesel (the latter is due out this month, it looks like a decent upgrade from the Gerber Scout).

Thanks again. Spoke with Dan on the phone and the problem was I had his old email address. My emails are just sitting in some old account until Hotmail kills the mailbox.
The knife appears to be a normal SFNO, but just a bit fatter than the knife Dan had for the template. I should have sent it to him in the first place, rather than make the gent do a custom sheath without the knife.
I'm probably going to send him my Longbow ECO LED flashlight and my (yet unpurchased, being released this month) Gerber Diesel multipliers to have a carry pouch made for them. Those two items never leave my hip, in uniform or out. If anyone is looking for a durable LED light, that takes 2 AA batteries, check out the Longbow. It has taken some hard whacks with no problem.
