Bought a couples of DMT Dia-Sharp Whetstone a couples of months ago but one of them seem not to perform up to expectation. Dramatic reduction in it's cutting properties after the first round and on second use, was touching up the edge of a BM-E. Noticed the Diamond corns was peeling off real bad. Can hardly use the stone without doing further damage. Send it back to DMT for them to have a look.

Anybody experience the same situation here? Let's hear your story! And how's DMT's warranty like? Any feed back will be highly welcome.

Thanks,
akee

I have a fine DMT benchstone that is about 5 years old and is still sharpening well, and just bought a coarse. Recently i gave away to a friend a DMT fine diafold (sp?) stone that was at least 10 yaers old was wore quite a bit, but i wouldn't consider it damaged. DMT stones do take a bit to break in, IMO they cut fast when new, but will smooth up with time. I can't comment on warranty, never sent one back. Could be that yours was just a fluke, let us know what DMT has to say.
