Hi All,
I bought a BNIB PM2 on the forums months ago. I bought it as a backup, so when I received it I just checked to make sure it looked new and as described and put it back into storage.
Today I decided to carry it and noticed there are some issues. The knife was pretty tight to begin with but I thought it would break in, but when I looked closely today, I noticed the body screw closest to the pivot was so loose it was sticking out. When I tightened it the knife became much tighter. I tried loosening the pivot, but to make the knife open smoothly, I have to accept a large amount of horizontal play.
It's on me for not checking the knife more carefully, and since it has been so long I'm not going to take it up with the seller. I'm also not going to try and resell it here or on the Bay and try to pull one over on someone else. What I am looking for is any advice on fixing the problem. If I sent to Spyderco would they be able to do anything with it? I've tried all I can think of, oiling the pivot, etc. I don't think I am being picky as I have had 4 other PM2s and they haven't really had any issues I couldn't live with. Thanks for any and all advice!
