I noticed this today, only after about 5 months .... never used. I can glide my fingernail down and it stops but it doesn’t look to be deep. What do you think I should do? Send it back or.....

Use this website to upload the pictures to https://imgur.com/ and then use the button called direct link to get the link and then come back to the forum and click on the button with the mountain on the bar above where you type your message then paste it in.

Hope it works.....

Are you referring to the line at the plunge grind? Wouldn't bother me enough to return to Benchmade.

Ok cool thanks. I am sort of new to all the metallurgy nomenclature. Just seeing if the line, crack, or whatever it is doesn’t give way and I lose an eye, leaving me with only two

I am curious about that line. Do you think its a crack it a grind mark under the coating? If you flex the blade what happens?

To post a pic from imgur- go to the uploaded picture in imgur and press on it. Copy the link. Then come to the forum, tap to leave a comment. Press the icon thats I circled. Press on the blank space and hit paste. The link will appear. Then post it.

Not sure the purpose of that cutout? Is that supposed to be or designed to be a relief cut? I myself think that the location of that cut out would be a hindrance. Just a thought.

If I suspected it was a crack, I would send it back. I wouldn’t want to be thinking about it in the back of my mind.

that looks to be a milling line from the cnc---look how clean and exact it is all the way to the end.I would not worry about it -it probably could have been hand finished but since they were coating the blade did not worry about hand blending that edge.

I'm going to move this to the Benchmade subforum, they have a factory rep. on here that should be able to help you out.
