Aside from being one of my favourite songs from the late Warren Zevon thats how I felt to-day . To deal with my own lawyer . The person I am paying . I,m just hot under the collar . We all know we need lawyers Right ? Who would we get to defend us if a lawyer is after us ?

Let it be said I do have a great lawyer . A stupendous lawyer . The kind of lawyer whom judges wait patiently for . Where the heck is your lawyer ? Said Mr. Judge to me .I don,t know Mr .Judge . You don,t know? He said irately .
What is his name ? When I told him Mr, Judge shut right up and waited with a most patient look on his face . Lawyer walks in . I walked out . Inbetween was Mr, Judge actually laughing at how silly my lawyer made opposition look .
Unfortunately he only handles criminal law .

I think I,ll get a lawyer to handle my lawyer .

Sorry to hear about that. I often tell people that a good lawyer is like a good army: there are rare times when you absolutely, positively need one, and nothing else will do the trick; however, more times than you might think, they're not the best thing for the job.

I often hear myself giving clients advice that sounds an awful lot like what you'll hear from Michael Janich or Marc MacYoung about knife fighting: you are almost always best off if you can figure out a way to simply avoid the conflict. I've practiced for almost 8 years now, and I'm appalled at how much it costs just to run a law firm and carry a case through to completion--and I'm not talking about excessive profit-taking on the lawyer's part, either; just inherent costs of doing this business.

You have my sympathies.

I was gambling in Havana,
I took a little risk.
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Dad get me out of this!

A truly classic song. Good stuff.

Not one of his better known songs . I used to start my evenings off with it .
Mr. Zevon was well respected and liked by other musicians which speaks volumes to me . What a rich interesting voice he had .

and a very unique songwriter too...

They can still see his headless body stalking through the night
in the muzzle flash of Roland's Thompson gun...

I can agree with this statement...

I have had the same lawyer for several years now...He as represented me in SEVERAL ahhh "things" and each time has come through

I swear that everytime I went in there, his eyes lite up and he hear's a cash register opening..lol

BUT!!

How good is he??

example..

Cops had me COLD!! I talk to lawyer and he tells me NOT to worry (I am worried of course, as I am entirely to pretty to goto jail!)...We goto court and by the time he is done with the witness, I was thinking to myself.."Well maybe I "didnt" do it after all"...lol:D

True. Also, a timely consultation with an attorney can head off a world of trouble further on down the line. I tell my clients to consider a few hours with me as an investment. ;)

True indeed. And in many, many different types of matters as well.

I often find that consulting an attorney is akin to learning the rules of a game...that others who've consulted attorneys already know.

Good point Nathan S!

Indeed........

In a long and colorful life, I've found that Guns and/or Money have often resolved the problems caused by Lawyers !!! :D

"Of all the Thompson gunners; Roland was the best........."

Better to deal with a lawyer for a few hours than with a corrections officer for a few years.

Just something to consider. :)

he he he ...

One of the little satisfactions in my life is that the attorney who took after me for blood not only lost, but also didn't get paid. Nothing a lawyer hates worse than that!

:)

I'm happy to say that I have no lawyer. Still have to work with them on a regular basis at work though. Not to mention my sister actually being one.

Sigh , I could have been talking to the wall for all the attention my lawyer payed to me . I was cut off at least five times . (I lost count . ) She didn,t make a copy of all the papers she took from me and returned and so had no idea what I was talking about . This is after fighting for two weeks to even get a second appointment with her . It seems once they cash the retainer the client seems to lose importance with them . I have already contacted another lawyer . My original lawyer cannot proceed without the papers she neglected to copy , In other words she cannot prove she did any work at all .I am going to see if I can cancel the retainer check .

Howard Wallace

That's a disease-carrying Tic coming up empty, nothing but a tiny peice of dead skin in its jaws.

Especially if you're innocent.

Threaten her with the bar association.

No Bruise, the OTHER bar...
