I brought some new tools in this week - full size Naniwa waterstones and a diamond plate.
Most of you know I am terrible at sharpening, so this is an opportunity for you to get an even worse finish and edge!
Waterstones leave a hazy finish on a knife, and they can also identify high and low spots in a grind. This is an example of what a finish may look like on a good day: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mkxTVXWg2...Cuc/eo_in6XmjoQ/s1600/IMG_20131209_143400.jpg
Good candidate knives would be Fiddlebacks that have seen honest work and can't get much uglier. Scandi blades would be best aligned to work with the stones, but i'll work with any of them. Sending hollow-grinds would be ill-advised.
I will accept 5 Fiddleback-Family knives from members of this forum and all you have to do is claim space below and send it to me. One knife per member. The work and return will be free of charge, with the caveat that I will be learning on your knives and will probably devalue them.
