Sending a private message

Hi,
I wanted to send a pm to a member who may have missed my answers to his thread (a knife foe sale). Looked in FAQ. A link pushed me to a pop up window : I may don't have such a right because of my member's status.
Would you please confirm "free" members can' send private message or tell me how to do it.
Thanks for your support...and keeping such a good place as bf for knives addicts.

Basic membership (10$ a year) gives right to "limited private messaging" while gold offers 100 pm.
How limited is the limited?

Click on the first link rycen posted and read the first paragraph, that is the sections on memberships.
 
None of rycen's links specifies the number of private messages available to Basic members.
I haven't been able to find that number anywhere else, either.
 
I believe a basic membership allows you 10 messages. Any combination of sent or received up to that total. Also remember that you can clear sent or received messages.
