Hi Folks ,

I hope this isn't to far off topic , but I figured at least one of you guys or gals had shipped something to Sweden . Here is my problem : I sent one letter and moneyorder that never showed up and had no sign of being delivered . I then sent another that has not gotten there yet and it's been 7 days . Has anyone had this problem before . I had it only once from Canada and once from Australia but both made it on the second try either from me or the maker . I would send it Fed-Ex but they want like $110.00 to do it . If it does not make it on this try I am going to give up on buying the knife from there . I really want it but this is just a pain in the ass . Any secrets I should know . Help !!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ,
Jerry

I've sent cash and money orders to several european countries including Sweden, Finland, Belgium and U.K...nver had a problem.

Here's how I do it.

I always use a lined envelope, I always tape the currency between a folded piece of heavy paper (110# card stock i.e.index cards) or light weight chip board (use the backer from a tablet of paper, a cereal box or what have you). I always write "PHOTOGRAPHS DO NOT BEND" on the front and back of the envelope.

I pay a little more in postage for the deception but I've never had a problem.

RifRaf,

Thanks for the advise . I'll try it that way if I don't make it this time . I would just use my card but this is a new maker and he doesn,t have an account . I hate to hold things up but damn I've tried hard to make it work .

I buy stuff every few months from Finland. I send the check using the post office's new "Global priority " envelope. Its a heavy envelope, costs $5.00 and it gets there in 3-4 days max. Air Mail to the same addresses takes 10-14 days. $5.00 is more than the usual $1.00, but a small price for peace of mind.

I just ordered a sword from Sweden from a guy who doesn't take VISA.
I had my bank transfer the money directly to his account, and as soon as the money arrives he'll ship my sword - this way no money has to be send by mail. It's rather expensive though - I paid about 25$ to get that done
