Senior pictures with props...

yeah, it's on topic.

On friday I'm doing my senior pictures. Now they said you could use props too, of stuff you're interested in...
Well I'm thinking I could do a few pictures with a BM42 in each hand. I have seen kids in the yearbook holding a sword before. So do you think I should go for it? Should I just bring them and ask then, or should I call? I hate calling

you may want to make sure it's ok before you bring them in, for fear of confiscation and/or disciplinary action. you're not quite out of their grasp... yet.

If someone had a freakin' sword I think a knife would be okay, though it would be best to give a call ahead of time.

Speaking as a photographer, I would love for you to bring your BMs along with for your session. It would really show your personality, and we could do some cool shots...

But, just to be safe, I would call and tell the photographer what you have in mind. I doubt he/she would mind... in fact, they will probably appreciate the advance notice. It might help them think up something special for your shoot. I would want to try a strobe burst while you are doing an ariel... the BM caught in about four or five positions above your hand

Seriously, my guess is that the photographer will welcome any break from the monotony of senior pictures.

I spent some time in front of a mirror today with my bali's coming up with poses; I found some pretty good ones that I'll probably use given that they'll let me do it.

I was also considering bringing in a few of my lightsaber replicas, but it'd really loose the effect if they couldn't add in a blade (which I'm sure they could, but probably wouldn't).
 
Sounds like they'll be some senior pictures you WON'T mind giving out, unlike most.

I wanted to have a handfull of throwing knives, but my Mom wasn't too keen on it. If the photographer is cool with balis, I'd LOVE to see some scans when they're done.

It isn't a "photo" of me, but Sniperboy was kind enough to sketch me up this Caricature a few days ago. This is not the completed project, I just haven't had time to scan the finished one.

How did your senior session go?? Post a photo when you get them (if that's ok... um, might be a copyright issue... better clear that with your photographer...). I hope I get a senior this summer who's into blades. We could have some fun then!

It went pretty well, actually. Except that it took the 45 MINUTES TO GET TO ME!!!!!!!! grrr... Now the thing that made this annoying was that I had to be at an interview at 1; I started the session at 12:15. I barely made it to the interview :p

All my indoor pictures were taken with me in my suite, but I did pull out my sheathed bali's telling the guy that those were my props. He said that he used to work at a knife store and there was a girl there that flipped. I was like :eek: really??? So apparently snipe isn't alone ;)

Then in the outdoor shoot I think I did two bali pics. In one of them I was sitting down with my leg propped up on a stool, with my arms crossed, bali's in hand. Kind of like your typical Wolverine pose. The other one I was sort of laying on my side. I'll post the pics when I get them (the 13th).
 
That sounds good... all except the waiting 45 minutes. There is a studio in this area that actually schedules 4 seniors at one time and rotates them between clothing changes :rolleyes:

I don't know, maybe I'm doing it wrong... I spent 4 hours with the last senior and 3 hours with the one before :) . I might be lacking in business sense, but I have fun!!!

PS Jeff will be making an appearence in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. In fact, the casts of ALL the Jersey movies is/are supposed to be in the movie.

yeah, that cast list for it is just huge! I can't wait to see it. I downloaded the second trailer the other night- funny stuff. "What the #%*&'s the internet???" hehe.
