I wanted to post this for those that may be on the fence about buying an Emerson due to "quality issues". I've been collecting them for a little over 3 years, a short amount of time I'll admit, but I've owned a lot of them over that time. Ive owned models spanning 17 years of production ranging from regular productions, to full handmade customs, to models made in extremely limited amounts. I use my knives hard while on duty as a firefighter and EMT, day in and day out. And through all that I'm only now sending my first Emerson for warranty work. The problem was nothing major, just a lockbar issue on an HD-7. I sent it in today and am absolutely confident in the resilience and reliability of Emerson knives. Without slinging any mud, I can say truthfully I've had more problems more often from other makers knives. Some of which are very popular. I suggest anyone doibting the strength and reliability of Emersons to pick one up and try them out, and I thonk you may be pleasantly surprised.

I have one that I have been wanting to send in with 95% lock up. My problem is that it still works 100% and I don't know how long I will be without it. Hard to let any of them go when you carry them so often and they still do the job.

What was up with the lock-bar?
Mine went all the way over and it the G10 but EKI fixed her up.

Yep I always have at least one emerson nearby I consider "ol reliable". I've owned approximately 20 different emersons and only had two that needed warranty work. A 2006 cqc-8 that developed lock rock after 4-5 months of daily carry/use and a 2000 specwar with the same lock rock, this one however was purchased this way so could have been a 10 year user for all I know. I got it in 2012.

Other then that most perceived issues with emersons can be remedied at home by disassembling and cleaning/lubing.
