Hi everyone,

Just sent my Vantage Force Pro for a warranty service, was curious about couple of things.

1. In your experience, what is and average turnaround time? Whats your overall satisfaction with the service?

2. I just followed instruction on on the website and mailed the knife with description of my problems plus my contact info. Now that I think about it, was I supposed to "call it in" first? I know its too late anyway, but was wondering.....

3. Just wanted your opinion on my problems with the knife
a. Noticeable up-down blade play. I can see that there is a little gap between liner lock and the blade. Main reason I decided to send it in for a services, pretty important for me.
b. Lock goes all the way to the right. I could live with that, but since i am already sending it in, I mentioned it. Makes it harder to close the knife.
c. There is rattling noise when knife is shaken:) Must be something loose inside I guess

I loved the knife otherwise and was debating between returning it vs. keeping & sending for a service. Decided to keep it (that gorgeous BOS S30V blade!), hope Buck will fix it for me.

Thanks!

A month and a half both times for me. Mail it out and just forget about it for a while. Concentrate on a different knife because it will feel like it's taking forever if you keep thinking about it. Trust me. :D

I always get mine back in about 2.5 week.

Sounds like you got loses screws under the g10 for the spacer in the liners I had it on one of mine it can cause the lock to fail or in this case cause the liner to move all the way over.

Yeah, I know the feeling!

Yep, I figured there would be a loose screw somewhere inside that's causing the noise, but since there was a lock issue that might or might not be fixable at home I decided to use the warranty.
The knife is so good otherwise! And it kinda went up in value recently

To call or not to call ? I think it is mainly about your personality. If you just write be friendly but detailed, don't write a epic sage of your experiences. Type or print note neatly. Be to the point. The 'craftsman' working on your knife will appreciate one page only, it will let them get going.
If you call you will not speak to the person doing the work, but, to someone who will mention you called to them and you will feel better having had human contact. You should include written description also. I have had it work both ways well. Do not call at Idaho lunch time. Check you time zones.
Good Luck. 300

Thanks 300Bucks,
That's pretty much what I did, typed up a short friendly half-page with simple 1,2,3 points describing my issues
