Sentry/Endeavor thoughts

I really love the Buck Sentry and Endeavor design. So it looks like the Sentry has an upgraded sheath (similar to the Hood collaborations) and a black coating, meanwhile the Endeavor has a more spartan sheath and no coating. BUT they both have serrations! Those pesky things drive me nuts. Now I'll grant you that as far as serrations go they aren't bad but none the less I would love to see the Endeavor ,preferably, offered in the plain finish with a plain edge.

Here's the thing I don't get with serrations. I don't ever recall reading a post by anyone stating they would NOT buy a knife because it did not have serrations. I've seen plenty of people hold out for a plain edge of a model they really like.

I'm wanting a plain edge Endeavor with the same sheath as it comes with now. If I can get that I'm going to get a nice slim kydex sheath made for it. That would be such a handy combo. I'm thinking a teklok and a fire steel loop and all that. I just hate those darn serrations cluttering up an otherwise tremendous blade.

Maybe just offer it as a "custom" on the Buck website and charge full retail or maybe a retailer exclusive. I bet Buck would sell bushels of them. I just really feel like this could be Bucks budget Bushcraft knife. The Buck Special of the 21st century.

Every time I go to the local Academy sports I just stand there in front of the Endeavors trying to wish the serrations off of one.:o

Any way sorry to go on so long about it but a guy has to have goals and a plain edge Endeavor is one of mine. :p Thanks for reading.:)

Great points! I also don't like serrations and would prefer the Endeavor without them. It's LESS steps for Buck to make the knife that way so I don't see why they don't offer it that way.

Would be great if they put in the custom shop since I would also like one with a certain sheath and handle material. Could be easy for them to do.

I guess it depends on the end use of the knife. I love serrations. I would carry an edc with out them as mechanic I cut alot of things where the serrations make it easier. I have the knife in question and it makes a good all around camping knife. The biggest thing I didn't like was the look and feel of the nylon handles so off they came and I did a paracord wrap for a true camp knife feel.If you are looking for no serrations try a Reaper slightly larger blade and different blade shape but the handles are the same . They have the same feel.I actually liked the look of the reaper better.

Been looking at the endeavor and sentry all day. I would have hit the buy button if Buck offered either in plain edge.
