Is this cloth good? I'm looking for something I can use to wipe down my blades to clean and protect my knives. Also what about the pivot stuff like that...I like CLP but it's to messy for knives.

Thanks.

I've used Sentry Solutions: Marine Tuf-Cloth as my only blade protection for many, many years. Never had ANY rust. I live in very, very high humidity countries and this is the only stuff I've been happy with. (The only knives I protect differently are my dive knives, and those get a thick coat of silicon grease.)

That said, I don't find Sentry Solutions;Tuf-Glide as effective for my pivots as other oils, waxes, or grease. It may protect better, but I prefer grease for my pivots these days. Used correctly, there is no dirt or dust build-up.

Sentry Solutions Tuf-Cloth/Marine Tuf-Cloth or Tuf-Glide are both excellent choices for rust prevention. The fact that it leaves a dry film is a great choice to avoid gunk and lint from collecting in unwanted spots. Though honestly I would leave the pivot dry and clean, never needed to oil a pivot to keep it smoothly moving in my case.

Just keep in mind that the product may not be necessarily food-safe, so if that concerns you, look for something like a very thin coat of mineral oil and such.

I think you might find it in a brick and mortar store at a gun shop or knife specialty shop. Not sure about general hardware stores.
