Sentry Tuf Cloth duration?

I've recently got into carbon steel blades (khukuri, ESEE 4, custom knife.) and have followed the common wisdom and decided to treat my knives with a tuf cloth. It's been excellent so far but I'm curious how long is a tuf cloth good for? How often do you need to buy a new one, do they "expire" or wear out? I'm sure mileage varies with use, I'm just curious to hear from people who have used the product a while, how long does one usually last before it's time to buy a new one? Thanks in advance.

I found that the tuf cloth stored in a jar doesn't dry out as soon as the one in the ziploc bag. You're supposed to be able to re-wet the cloth with tuf-glide when it dries out, but you still need something air tight to store it in.

I've been using the same two clothes for 15 years...

As it says on the package, if it dries out, re-wet it with mineral spirits (Stoddard Solution.) You can find small bottles of it for $2-$3 at art supply stores. Once every 4-5 years I add a few drops of Tuf-Glide, but I really don't think it needs it. I just do it because, well, if a little is good, a lot should be better, right? I store mine in their original plastic bags, but put those inside an 'Aloksak' mil-spec plastic ziplock bag. Stored this way, they stay pretty wet for several years.

Great product. I have never had a blade rust when protected this way.

Good to know. I have second one on the way from bladehq with an ESEE 4. I'll just throw that one in the jar with the other one. Glad to hear these 2 will have me covered for the foreseeable future with a little help from mineral spirits and maybe some tuf glide. I'm kind of sorry that I stayed away from carbon steel for so long.
