Seperate blades?

I generally don't use the spay blade on my trapper; just incase I dull out my clip blade, I have a sharp spare blade. Or I will use the spay at restaurants if I don't like their steak knives, but for the most part I use it as a backup.

I bought a mini trapper a few years ago but haven't used it much. I used to hog hunt with an old guide who used nothing but his Case trapper to field dress and skin hogs. Put us knife and blade steel snobs to shame. He used the spey blade to open up the hog with. Because of the nice rounded tip, he could "unzip" the hog without puncturing the internal membrane. Then used the clip point blade to clean it out with. Poured water on it when he was done and folded it back up. It was probably a 30 year old knife with the cv steel. I've wanted to use mine to do the same, but sadly have succumbed to the premium steel/knife addiction.

Keep in mind that the Mini Trapper is also available with a wharncliffe instead of the spey blade if you prefer.

i do have a trapper and use the spay blade for anything i need a razor for and my clip for harder use

I never had a Trapper, but I always wondered how useful would the spey blade be...and it never convinced me alot (I posted about this on another thread), even tho I speak only in theory.
As Jason suggested, the wharncliff version for the secondary blade might be a great idea: Sure it does appeal to me alot more.
