Seperating INFI vs. A2 models

Is there any way to tell the difference between an used A2 version of the Mean street, Badger and Steel Heart vs. an INFI version. I recently saw a Badger on consignment at a local gun store but the gun store owner did not know anything about it.

I know the INFI versions are more recent but the blade shapes appear similar. My INFI BM and Mean Street blades are sterile without any markings.

We can tell by applying certain chemicals to the exposed steel. Often, the A-2 models were gun blued between the handles, but not always. Hole location and other measurements can also help us determine the grade of steel used. If you're not sure what you have, you can return the blade to our shop and we will test it for you.

P.S. All Battle Mistresses are made from INFI, there are no A-2 versions.

Thanks for the information. The Badger was probabaly an A2 model on consignment as it was supposed to be several years old. It also came with a combination kydex, cordura holster. The consignee wanted $275.

For now it looks like it will be next to impossible to determine whether or not some of the older models for sale are INFI or A2.

Are these tests we can administer ourselves? If so, want to clue us in on the requirements?
