We can NEVER forget. And that is a good thing.

May God bless the lost, and those who loved them.

==========================================

I offer the often used, but misunderstood, from Isaiah chapter 9, verses 9 through 11;

Isa 9:9 And all the people shall know, [even] Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart,

Isa 9:10 The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change [them into] cedars.

Isa 9:11 Therefore the LORD shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

Couldn't believe what I was hearing at work that day. Still remember it like it was yesterday.

It was eerie not seeing or hearing aircraft in the sky after this.

We definitely had a wake up moment that hit us hard. Channel that memory into service and renewed call to duty whatever way you serve.

Forget? No. We haven't forgot December 7th either. But December 7th, the day Pearl Harbor was attacked, passed -- as it now does -- without much hoopla. And the Sunday before last was VJ Day, Victory in Japan day, passed with little notice. Oh, and Japan, our mortal enemy, the enemy who attacked us so horribly on December 7th, the enemy whose surrender we commemorate on VJ Day? They are now our good friends and strong ally.

That transformation is a very American thing.

Forget 9/11/01? No. But we will and must move on and allow 9/11/01 to recede. We are Americans and we have a future to get on with.

The American lives even more for his goals, for the future, than the European. Life for him is always becoming, never being.
--Albert Einstein

And at the risk of an arrogance by amending Einstein, I will also add, "and certainly never has-been."

Good post Mr. Gollnick... thank you for "moving" it here.

The heroism of mankind and the lives lost should never be forgotten ...
God bless America !!!

As a one who is not American, I have wondered if everyday Americans have accepted the government's official conclusion to that horrible day.

The vast majority do.

Do many Americans feel that there questions still left unanswered?

Questions unanswered? Yes. But you will always have that in such a chaotic situation.

However, the vast majority realize that and are comfort with it.

You refer, I suspect, to a lunatic fringe who promote massive conspiracy theories. We here in America always have conspiracy theorists. Who shot JFK? The moon landing was a fake. The earth is flat. These people abound. There are some who still want to reinvestigate the Lincoln assassination. And the vast majority of us ignore them and even laugh at them.

Really, the President can't even have a little trist with an intern in the Oval Office -- arguably one of the most secure rooms in the world -- without the world finding out and yet you are asking me to believe that a vast conspiracy involving hundreds if not thousands of people has stayed secret for over a decade? If you still cling to such a notion, look at what has happened recently with the publication of a book about the Bin Laden raid and killing. No, such a conspiracy simply could not exist and the vast majority of Americans realize that.

Understood, you're not goin to satisfy every critique in the situation.

After checking out some conspiracy videos, I was surprised by the fact that a high government official in the US could hold dual citizenship. Which flag would they pledge an allegiance to?
