I just came across an article in an old copy of the Wawarsing.Net its from September 2004. I was able to find it on line but you have to access each page individually:

http://www.wawarsing.net/22/COPDF/409-20-Forward4.pdf
http://www.wawarsing.net/22/COPDF/409-22-Forward5.pdf

If this has been posted before I appoligize for duplicating it.

I havent seen it before. Thanks.
I merged the pages together and made a single pdf.
Might be a little large but I'll try and shrink it later. It is cold here in NH tonight and that should take care of it.

That is fantastic how can I get an original that is one of the best pieces I have ever seen . How did that get by me Damn you sure know how to piss me off BK. Still, great thankyou. LT

I actually have an original copy, I came across it last night and had to find an on line version.

I looked briefly through the other indexes for more on ISC, but had no luck. Surely I just missed it. Something on the anniversary? The state grants programs? It was a very well written article, I thought.

Codger, most things are taken for granted until they are gone. We are going through the death throes of the American auto industry here in Detroit. It too, was unappreciated by those of us locally until it was too late. I don't know if they can save it at this point.

Yeah, my own job as an automotive plastics process engineer resides in China now. That is where they built the new plant. Wish I was a fly on the wall when they find the microscopic playboy bunnies hidden in the CAD files of the molding machines and process sheets!:D

I do agree though, that was a very well written article about Schrade. It's a shame it was their obituary.

Well, actually, this is not the first time there has been a split/shift/upstart by cutlers in the Walden/Wawarsing/Ellenville area. Imagine what the people went through in the 1800's/early 1900's. Remember your knife history. Yes, it is sad, and for some tragic even. But it is a long way from the end of the story. Perserverance in the face of adversity is a virtue these people brought with them from around Europe, and I think it still remains in the valley.
