That time again. A few of us are heading up to Sequoia NF from Friday April 26 to Sunday the 28th (or maybe till Monday the 29th for some). The spot is a clearing in the forest. It's car camping with no facilities (bring your own water/food, poop in the woods).
Here's the spot: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...666784,-118.967128&spn=0.003769,0.008149&z=18
This is an annual event, and we've had as many as 18 people and as few as four. It's a good time no matter what. The weather or the past few years has ranged from the 20's to the 50's at night. Maybe rain, maybe snow (possible, but unlikely), maybe not. A little bit of snow or rain doesn't keep us from going.
We usually practice up on our outdoorsy (that a word?) skills, make fire, cook over the fire, eat, eat more, play with knives, hike, archery, lounge around, and lots of shooting. Bring your California legal firearms as we always set up a shooting area and have some sort of competition (and I always place last, it's rigged I tell you!).
It's very informal. Families are welcome, but little kids around guns and loosely placed grossly sharp knives may be questionable depending on the kid. Post here if you want to come or have any questions. Specific directions will be provided upon request (google directions are iffy).
Can't wait to get out and play. Here are a few pics from previous events.
