Man, this thing only cost $125! Somebody screwed up.
Here's what I like:
- no-nonsense styling
- very comfy in the hand
- best clip I've ever seen, very strong and allows super low ride in pants
- great blade shape
- very sharp
- super smooth action
- rock solid lock-up
- nice integration of finger guards into handle
- excellent fit and finish; not perfect though
- dual thumb studs
Here's what I don't like:
- thumb studs somewhat sharp
- should be some sort of ridges on liners/handle slabs for thumb grip
And that's it. Looks like my large Sebenza will be getting a rest from back pocket duties for a while.
Gotta go cut something and see what this thing can do.

Glad you like it Lenny! It's good to see someone else in the SERE fan club. If you want to make the thumbstuds more comfortable, rubberize them. Just slide a little piece of heat shrink tubing over them and apply a heat gun or hair dryer. The stuff shrinks up tight and once you've trimmed off the excess with a razor blade or exacto knife you are in business. Really makes a difference. You can get heat shrink tubing at Radio Shack or a hardware store.

Give your lock the whack test. I just tested mine by moderately tapping it on the back of a padded suitcase, and it failed miserably. I was very disappointed because this seems to be a well made knife with a sharp blade.

Good hint on the shrink wrap tubing.
As for the spine whack test, I just beat on mine on my carpet really hard. It didn't buckle. As a matter of fact, the liner-lock travelled further over to make it tighter. Just luck of the draw I guess.
Can anybody tell me about the VG-10 steal of the blade. Howz the edge holding and how easy is it to resharpen?
Thanks again,
Lenny

Well I did more than a couple 'good' spine whacks on my relatively new Sere2K. Couldn't get lock to fail. Spose I could stick it in the big Wilton vise and then really whack the blade with an ax handle, but don't know that I need to do that to tell me that this is a good strong lock...which it is. I'm not quite sure I know why they needed to make the lightening cuts in the liner lock though. If it was to make it easier to unlock I wish they would have left it be...at least for me. Great clip though I would have preferred a nonglare black finish..but then I guess it wouldn't match the blade finish. Love the deep carry but the shiny clip spoils it. If this turns into an everyday carry for me I'll be looking to getting this clip flat blacked. This knife is built like a tank...perhaps a bit heavier and thicker than the light'n thin carry crowd prefers but doubt anyone would be dissatisfied in carrying this as an everyday user. Obviously well thought out in enginnerring and execution leaves little in room for improvement. Indexes well in hand with good thumb and forfinger positions finding a good home behind the bolster/guards. Nice recurve at rear of handle anchors pinkie well and works well with alternative grips. As for the oft mentioned opening studs..yes they have an aggressive edge but for me they work fine. I don't have a great need to constantly flick my blades open..if so yes they will wear on you a bit. In use I want my blade to open with certainty..and these studs work, though would have preferred a matching relief on the left side g10, and the relief could have been a bit more rearward. Of course an angle topped stud ala Weiland would have been terrific. Great bargain in a fine quality production folder no doubt. Anyone in search of the perfect carry blade needs to give this one a go.
