Ever since I sold my first SERE 2K a year or so back, I've regretted it.
Well, I recently traded for another one NIB.
What a nice knife.
Ripping sharp, solid lock, and comfy.
I made several minor mods: ground the top level off the thumb studs to keep from catching on my pockets during withdrawl; and softened up the inside edges of the liners with a file.
I was wondering if it's possible to turn this into a 1 thumbstud knife. It looks like one screws into the other. Has anybody looked into this?
Any suggestions are welcome.
This is gonna be my "go to hard use knife"
I'll use it for everything I'd rather not use my Sebenza for.

Sure anything is possible. The real question in my mind is would it be feasable? I mean, if you care nothing about the appearance you could simply unscrew the studs, and buy a machine screw of the right size. Only problem with this method is that it would leave an ugly screw head sticking out of the knife. To do it right you would need to find the same screw, and countersink a hole for it. Now remeber that that is hardened steel, and you won't want to get it too hot while cutting so you don't ruin the heat treat.
