How effective is the Sere Operator for utility/camp purposes?
The Sere Operator seems like a great fighter (minus the less than desirable finger guard) but it seems kinda thin and light for utility. The point also seems a bit weak for heavy utility purposes? Am I way off here?
The Idea of a tough but lightweight utility/camp knife really appeals to me and I am a big fan of S30V steel. I wonder if the SERE fits the bill or falls short.
How would I intend to use such a knife you ask???
Cutting Rope, Cloth, Nylon Straps, Cardboard, Whittling Wood, Light Choping and Battoning (nothing greater than 1" diameter), and splitting wood (nothing over 4" diameter).
I'm thinking maybe the SERE falls short of being up to these tasks, ofcourse I'm not sure or I would be posting this to begin with. I would truely love to be proved wrong because I am very fond of this knife in general.
