Hit the cheap book store today for the children. On the way out, my wife asked if I wanted to check out the "free book" bins. Very first one I looked in had the book pictured below on the top of the pile. I've already picked up some good information from the book.

I guess you could also call it serendipitous that Moose and Bladite invited me to get involved over here in the Becker forum. The above necker and the knife below recently showed up, along with some "bonus" items, thanks to the generosity of Ethan Becker. Ethan, I appreciate the contests and prizes. You have a "real" thank-you note winging your way via snail mail.

Hey Guyon nice find, I do the same thing with my kids.. We have a used book store here with millions of books I promise this thing is huge.. My little girl is a total book worm so every report card she gets $60 in books as well as my son. What makes it nice though is I'm a member of a barter circle with the store kinda like monopoly money :D

They also have 'I believe' free books on table all along the front of this monster store, though I've never checked it out..

Not a bad day there fella. Must be hard work, clean living, and good karma.

Excellent score, Guyon!

Looks like a good book

Back in the day, this was one of the few truly good books on survival. When my kids were small (46 & 44 now), I asked my wife to suggest to my kids to get it for me for Christmas, which they did! :D And yes, I acted surprised. :D

For those of you that don't know, this book is free for download here.

Doc

And everytime I hear the word, 'serendipity', I think of the movie and Kate Beckinsale - not a bad thing :D !

Good find. BTW, fellow Tennessean and I do have chickens. If that means anything;) Have enjoyed many of your posts. Thanks:D

i bet those books burn real pretty :)

Hey Guyon.....

I have always felt that this was one of the great classics of wilderness survival.......I have a couple of copies (one to loan and one to guard jealously).......Nice score......

All Best....

Hey Doc....

Many thanks for the link......

Graves is certainly still one of the very best at getting you to think about principles as opposed to specifics.....His emphasis on cordage, fire and steel is great......I know how I will spend the rest of the day......Graves will be my companion this afternoon....

All Best.....

That's about as good a testament to this forum as I've seen.

Great book. I have never seen this one here. We don´t have a spanish word for Bushcraft, we use the same. I have to look for more info, or get it in U. S. Thank you
