Hello,

I am new to collecting CRK and prefer the large models. I already have a 21, 21 Insingo, 25 and Umnumzaan and feel they are outstanding in their own separate ways.

I would like to focus no the large Sebenzas and get one of each model - all with plain titanium handles and stone tumbled blades (no inlays or Damascus)

Since I already have a 21, a 25 and an Insingo I believe that I am missing a Regular Sebenza and a Classic Sebenza. Am I correct? Is there a Sebenza that pre-dates the the Regular Sebenza?

Thank you. I did search the forums but could not find a simple answer.

The original Sebenza that the classic and 21 are based on pre-dates the "regular". You will find three types; numbered models with a "P" (for production), non numbered "P" models, and knives that just have the CR logo.

Then there are the numbered "H" (hand made) and "PP" models that pre date those. And the integral lock folders he made before naming the knife Sebenza.

Thank you St. James - you have set me on the right track. You have an outstanding collection of Sebenzas there which I'm sure you are rightfully proud of. If you wouldn't mind i'd appreciate a PM perhaps indicating where I can search for good examples of the earlier models. Thank you again !

You can check out my timeline history in the Sticky above......:) Look through out the thread as its filled with info throughout.

H Sebenza
P Sebenza
Original Sebenza
Regular Sebenza
21 Sebenza
Insingo Sebenza
25 Sebenza

The top 4 are tough to get and will set you back a couple grand. Especially the H. I have only ever seen 1 for sale here in all my years. Good Luck with your search.

It's been too long since we've gotten to see some of your CRK historical pieces, James. Just wow.

Thanks buddy.

Thanks, Steve. I swear I will take some decent pictures one of these days.

GSY, welcome to the forums. Finding the older knives was difficult when I started collecting almost 20 years ago, it has only gotten tougher. I can only wish you luck in your search.

Thank you again James. I'll be looking diligently. Enjoy your wonderful collection!

I'm going to hold you to that, buddy. ;) I keep that table-top shot you posted a few years back as a CRK historical reference.

Tell me about it. ^^^this is what made me shift my collecting focus from early Reeve knives to something a little more specific. I'll also commit to putting together a group shot one day when everything comes back to me. Good luck to you finding those rare pieces still floating around out there.
