Hi,

I was just wondering how emerson numbers his production knives. I have a CQC-7A 1998 with a serial number then I have a CQC-7B 1999 with no serial number, I also have a CQC-7B
1999 with a CN-serial number. This is also the case with the two commanders I have, one has a serial number and one does not. any insight is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ted

4GD,
I can't help you with the serial #'s, for I am also learning.

However,

What knife (Commander or CQC7?) do you have with the CN serial # and what is the serial number?

Thanks

In the past, new models and special runs have been serialized. Not all, but most.

In only a few cases have I seen models serialized over 1000.

Sorry, but that's all I can come with at this point.

John

4GD,
Yes, I have a Commander, serial #096. I am trying to locate the matching CQC7.

Dang Ronin,
So close but yet so far,
I've got CQC7 number 93!
I could have raked you over the COALS in a trade!

Ken,

In some ways, I am sad that you don't have it.

But, after reading your post, I'm kinda glad you don't!!

Just out of curiosity, what would you want for it??

All kidding aside, if it was to help someone make a matched set, I might let it go in exchange for another one just like it. Just to sell it for the sake of selling it though, I'd rather hang on to it.
(I might want to toss a coin with you though, to see who gets the matched set!)
