Serial Numbers

I have a question about the serial numbers on ZT knives :

So are the serial numbers on the blades of ZT knives exclusive to each individual knife ? Which would mean that no two knives of the same model would have the same serial number ? ( Like a VIN on a car ) ?

Or does every knife of the same model get the same serial number ( like all 0350's get the same serial number and all 0560's get the same serial number ) ?

They start from 0001 on every model...Sometimes there will be duplicate Ser #s on accident. I've owned 0561s from #'s in the 0200s to in the 3000's

That's great. It's like each model is a limited edition with a uniquely numbered blade. I like it.

I do believe on the same knife like say the 0350 for example, there is a #0500 in the plain edge and a # 0500 in the serrated model too. I have the one in serrated and seen the same numbered plain edge one. All Zt's are like that. As chester said there are a few duplicates but I think the only ones I heard about were all 0560's

They used to even put the month & year the blade was made on some ZTs & Kershaws
