Serial Numbers?

I have an Old Timer 165 that I bought new. It's 30-40 years old and doesn't have any serial numbers. Was there a certain time frame in which numbers were used?

I believe that knife was introduced in 1967 and had serial numbers for a short time. If your knife has the word "Walden" in the tang stamp but no serial number, it was manufactured from maybe 1968/ 1971 to the summer of 1973. If it does not have the word "Walden" stamped into the blade it was manufactured sometime from the summer of 1973 until sometime in 1991. There is a thread here on 165s that you might enjoy reading.
