So many awesome blades to look at! After waiting for so long to finally try an Emerson, I feel like I need to make up all of that time without one to myself with another one. The money saving has begun! But which one next?! I like the CQC-8, CQC-15, and the Commander. No idea which way to go, though! Heck, I might even end up wanting yet another CQC-7! Maybe having a second one in SF would be a nice way to go? I don't know! Help!

The 8, 15, and Commander are all AWESOME blades. I actually like my Mini-Commander for EDC quite a bit. The recurve makes for awesome draw cutting, and the big belly makes for sweet slicing in general, but in a smaller, EDC sized package.

All of that said, the 15 gets you basically the best of all Emerson worlds... 7 style Tanto point, with Commander recurve/belly. It's a mean looking blade too.
Sorry, not much help. You just can't go wrong...

Kind of split between it and the mini. Whatcha think on that one?

For me personally. My hands are maybe a little larger than your average medium glove size. And I found the Horseman to be to small for my hands. The full size Cqc8 feels fantastic though. It's a totally different knife. They're both great knives. But, that's why I sold my Horseman to buy an 8. Ymmv.

Not really into the Roadhouse to be honest. Not because I don't like it, I do, but just because the 7 is already a Tanto so I'd like something a bit more different. Maybe a CQC-8 or a 10.

Well thank you! But yeah, it's a tough choice between the two. I love the utility of spearpoint blades for EDC tasks (more useful point IMO) but the belly on the 8 would make for a heck of a versatile slicer. Tough pick...

While I do love them both. I think that the 10 is a better choice for more overall general edc tasks. I carry mine more than anything else.

Then choose an 8. I have a mini 8 and a Super 8.

For EDC the mini 8 (Horseman) is really useful. For killing Zombies, the Super 8 is perfect.

You have not been charged for this excellent advice.

I would, but I'm probably not going to be spending the money for at least a month, maybe two. I have lots of bills on my plate lately! :( But I think I'm starting to lean toward the 8, so maybe for my BDay in Sept!

I have an 8, 15, Commander and Super Comander but the one that really feels great in
hand is the CQC 13, it's one of Ernie's greatest designs, and deserves more attention.
