Here's one where the Damascus makes a statement, I think.

12 1/4 inch, six-bar Damascus blade, Explosion and Modified Turkish Twist; Three-bar, forged to shape D-Guard, Explosion and M-TT; Matching three-bar domed butt-cap; Damascus collar, finial, and "Take-down Tool" cap.

The handle is an ancient Walrus Taper.

Joe Mason did the gold wire inlay, and Paul Long made the Sharkskin and Alligator sheath with "Take-down tool Papoose."

It's a full take-down, and will be at the Jerry Fisk Micro-Show this Oct.

Hope you like the looks,

John

Hey John. Haven't seen you post in a while and I'd been wondering what you're up to. Then you come back with a STUNNER! I love it!

Your lines and proportions are always so pleasing and especially on your D-guards. They are some of the best there is, IMO. And of course, the workmanship is fantastic as always.

Additionally, that is some particularly intricate and beautiful steel.

Nicely done.

John,

That is a real BEAUTY!!

The Damascus is really great.

I can't wait to see this one in person next month.

As always you did a SUPER job.

I love the line along the spine and top of handle...not to mention the awesome steel!!!

I so admire your D guards, John.
All your work, your D guards particularly.
The amazing steel, the fittings and the flow look perfect on this big blade.

wow, it's stunning! Great Damascus and that ivory simply beautiful. Look forward to seeing it in person.

I've never liked D guards, but that one looks so organic it looks like it grew along with the rest of the knife. And who doesn't like the purity of ivory? Wonderful!

Nice work John, the whole piece is amazing but my favorite part is the explosion bars- so clean and explody!

Salem said what I was thinking. Stunning pattern in the blade. Everything else looks great as well but it was the pattern in the blade that caught my eye first.
Thank You for posting the photos. It is always exciting getting to see your new knives.
