Ok so I've got a TGLB on order, well actually it's gonna be my birthday present, anyway I'm ordering a matching rodent solution, as long as jungle green and moss green are the same color that is.

My problem is I also want to get a big chopper but can't decide between a rodent 9 and a 911, the 911 is so practical with the res-c and lower price but the 9 is just so sexy. Now if I could get the 9 to match my TGLB and RS this wouldn't even be a question, should I just get the 911 now and wait for them to offer more colors in the rodent 9 assuming they will?

If you actually want to chop with it get the 911. I love my Rats but res-c cannot be beat for real chopping. Just my .02.

I have a Jungle Green TGLB. The coating is very green and very "flat" like the original black coating on the Busse Basics. The Moss Green blades I have gotten are more crinkly coated, like the current black coating and kind of a gray-green. To me, the coatings are quite different, but YMMV. You could try emailing Swamp Rat about custom coating the Rodent Solution and about what they can do for a Rodent 9. Not sure if they can do either in Jungle Green, but it never hurts to ask.

I agree with Moses_3 about Res-C handles for chopping, but the Rodent 9 handle grows on you even if it looks strange at first.

You can order an R9 though the custom shop. Shoot them an email and they will give you prices for the different color and handle options. I ordered a custom R6 through them which should be ready any day.

Awesome, thanks for the help guys I think what I'll do is contact the shop about getting the RS in jungle green and get the 911 now since I do plan on using it for chopping and then get a custom R9 in a month or two to match the others.

I have a 711 and when I try to chop with it I get the feeling that the knife will slip out of my hands at any second. I just don't feel comfortable with it. I do have a R9 and I bought it like "meh if I don't like it I will sell it" Now, after using this knife for a long weekend of camping I realized the true genius of the R9. No matter how you hold it and how hard you swing, that knife is not going ANYWHERE, it feels like its locked in. To make it all that much better it it works pretty well for smaller finer tasks.

Well I ordered the 911 and e-mailed the shop about getting a Jungle green RS so now I'm just waiting for a reply on that, if I find that the 911 is hard to grip I may stiple it some for a more secure grip, thanks for the help everyone.
