So I have a Zebralight SC60 bought directly from Zebralight and two Orbtronic 3100mah PCB protected 18650 batteries. When the batteries arrived I put one directly in the flashlight and since they only came half-charged I put the other one on the charger. I carried the flashlight for a couple days and it worked fine. When I went to change in the fully charged battery it felt kinda tight fitting, but I didn't think it was a problem so I pushed the battery the rest of the way in. I then realised that in the act of pushing it in some of the plastic on the outside of the battery had stripped off so I went to take out the battery to look at it. The other battery dropped out just fine but no amount of shaking has been able to get this one out. What should I do? is there a way to take apart the flashlight to remove the battery?

Thanks!

OK, so after repetedly whacking the flashlight against the arm of a chair I got the battery out, but it's still missing a little chunk of coating on the negative end. Is this a problem?

I know Im a newb But Id recommend registering and trying your luck with Candlepowerforums. (hopefully Im not breaking any rules for that) But they are awesome with flashlights and know their stuff. I am on there and here everyday. You learn ALOT from both this forum and that one.

I'm gonna be gone for a week starting tomorrow, I'll see about what to do with the battery when I get back I guess.

Am I missing something, or is this a brand new item that should be covered against defects and returned for a replacement?

so there is now something broken from inside the battery compartment? A pic would help.

If the zebra light isnt metal, you might want to try putting it in the freezer. I have used this with more plastic items that have had rechargable batteries that have swelled like that. That being said I had an old metal jet beam that I never managed to get the battery out of. I tried heating it (hoping the metal would expand greater than the bat would) tried freezing, tried wd 40 and plyers and even rice. Had to finally throw it away.

i believe the op's battery is damaged not the light... imo, scrap the battery and buy a new one. why risk a kaboom?
