I went to a small gun show here in town today and found a NIB G10 Police PE. The dealer told me that he'd be willing to trade the Police for any Spydie(s) that I have in my collection.

My problem is: WHICH of my Spyders do I trade??? :confused:

I've decided on these Spydies...

Endura SE LtWt. (VG-10 steel)
Vesuvius 50/50 #683 w/shell inlay
Delica SE LtWt. (VG-10 steel)
Shabaria PE #257
Native LtWt. 35/65
(maybe) engraved Native II PE

What do you think would be a fair trade for this NIB Police PE? (Of course, I realize that this trade may take more than just one of my Spydies on my part.) Unfortunately, I can't afford to just buy it, at this time, so I need to go this route if I'd like to get this Police.

Can't tell you which one I would trade but I would not trade the Native II.

I would choose the ones that are the most easily replaceable in the future whenever you have more funds.
 
You're right....my engraved Native is not going anywhere. ;)

I traded my numbered Vesuvius 50/50 and Delica SE for the NIB G10 Police PE. I may regret it later, but on the bright side, this dealer will be in town at the gun show next month. If he still has it in his inventory, I may be able to get it back. No big deal right now, though. This Police is AWESOME!!! (And well worth the trade, since the G10 Police is discontinued. ;) )

I also picked up a LNIB G10 Civilian SE, with papers and Spyder carry case, for only $75!!! It's an older model, with GIN-1 steel, but it's in prime condition, as you can see. :D :cool: :D

Beautiful knives! Nice score on the Police. I just wish that it were legal to carry here. :(

What are the laws for carry in MO? I travel there occasionally and up until now, haven't really thought about it.
 
Two beauties!! Nice deal on the civilian!!!

I have the Police and its been a great companion.

Soon I'll have a Military to compliment it.

BOK, you mentioned that your Police is a great companion, do you carry yours for EDC? I carried mine for just a day, but my Millie always seems to find its' way back into my pocket. The G10 Police is one of my new favorite Spydies, but I think that I'll stick with the Millie for work EDC and just use the Police for non-work carry.

Fortunately, here in the great state of Texas, the legal blade limit is 5.5 inches!!! :cool:
So carrying the Police isn't a problem whatsoever for me, and I may even carry my Civvie every now and then. :D :p :rolleyes:
 
The G10 Police is kinda like my back up EDC. When my AFCK was dull or out of commision the Police was always there to back it up.

Now that the AFCK has been retired the Police is playing a backup role to an EKI Commander. It probably sees about 1-2 days per week carry time.

I just find that the clip rides a little too low for a tip down blade otherwise it might see more carry time.

And it really sucks because there are so many great knives just at the 3.9-4.1 range. :( I would love to carry a G10 Police :D

BOK, I find the lower carrying clip more convenient in that it allows quicker deployment of the blade. Just as in the Military, the extra inch or so that is exposed allows me to grasp the Hole and deploy it much quicker than a knife that's deeper in pocket, such as my full-sized Calypso.

Jazzman, I plan on carrying that Police only occasionally. Partly because its' discontinued, and also because my Millie is my most carried for EDC. But it sure is sweet to carry. :D :cool: :D

Same here, because they are most likely the easiest to replace. A G-10 Police would be ever so much handier than my SS scaled one, which gets quite slippery when wet.
