Craig,

Did the shipment come in on schedual? The wife says that I am wearing a path in the rug waiting for that all important post from you telling us that it is here.

It's here, but it is sitting at the airport. Marya and I took a much needed vacation on Thursday and Friday, so we couldn't make it to customs. We went to Ithaca, NY and camped out overnight at 6 mile creek. Incidentally, I took one of the two remaining Bhojpures in stock with me, and put it through quite a workout. Performance was excellent! And since I forgot my gun, it doubled as our protection, which we did not need.

You can guess what I'm doing on Monday. I'd say that since this is a fairly large order, customs will take a day and I'll have the shipment in hand on Tuesday. Which means all the backordered khukuris ship on Wednesday. We'll be burning the midnight oil Tuesday night, so think of us (and send us Pizza!).

Glad to see that you listen when Marya talks you into a well deserved rest. Its hard on us to realize that we aren't as young as we think we are.

Craig, dealing with the government bureaucracy, i.e. Customs, has got to be one of the most unpleasant aspects of your job. And to think that you have to do it on a regular basis!
 
Actually, it's not half as unpleasant as dealing with the airline cargo people. Just this morning I called the airlines to learn that the shipment was sent to Arlington TX not Arlington VA - despite the fact that the shipping documents clearly say "IAD" (Dulles International Airport). Of course, the shipment often goes to "Dallas." So, needless to say, I'm playing phone jockey today.

Hi guys. Dropped the paperwork off at Customs today, and the shipment arrives tomorrow AM, so I'm really looking forward to breaking those boxes open! That's the news.
