Ya know... I consider myself a (somewhat) rational man. But this Becker thing has taken hold of some primordial part of my brain and kicked it's ass. In the last two days I have read nearly every single word of all the stickies. The list one obviously being my favorite. What I am SO SO SO happy about is the fact that the knives being produced today are essentially the exact same as the knives from the 'collectible' days. So I can save a ****load of money, and still have users.

So..here's the long and short of it. I am going to get 2 each of BK-2's and BK-9's, one Machax, and a BK-11 (or 17, not sure yet). Oh, and if the Brute gets produced, that's a no-brainer. But I am NOT spending $400 on a knife that I plan to pound on like a railroad spike.

I will take one each of the 2 and 9 and safe queen them, and use the living heck out of the other two. Same goes for the Machax, that's a pure user.

Where do I sign up to be a Beckerhead? That's the one thing I didn't see.

Mr Ethan, you sir are a genius. There is not an awkward line on any of the knives you designed, NOT ONE! And that is saying something. All were designed for a purpose, and they fill that purpose. I love the fact that there aren't umpteen limited editions of each knife, and the steel has remained almost unchanged for all these years. You did it right, and did it right the first time. Congrats on being recognized for the visionary you are.

Rant complete.

Just getting into the BK line, I feel the same. I don't think I'm going to drop that much upfront, and never have a safe queen, just not my style. But I think you touched on a lot of good aspects of the Becker line. I think another awesome addition is the community which uses them and is passionate about them. We even have the namesake of the knives, Ethan Becker himself, engaged in the forum and discussion with users....how freaking awesome is that!?

I'm interested in the Beckerhead thing too, but it seems us FNGs have to put in some work to earn it :D

Just hang out here, and post up pics when you use your knives and you will have the requirements met in no time.

Welcome to our corner of the asylum, and welcome to a lengthy disease!

Yeah guys, welcome to our corner of addiction. TheKnifeWhisperer, I had relatively the same reaction but instead of the 2, I went for the 7.

Damnit Derek, seriously? Your post wasn't there when I was posting... SERIOUSLY?

Welcome gentlemen!
You'll have those Beckerhead requirements met in no time!
In the meantime hang out, have fun, and feel free to join in.

I was sucked in to the Becker vortex a few months ago. Now I am trying to decide my next Becker to compliment my 2 BK2's!!

welcome to the craze. even as i sit here, i have my 14 in hand. just can't get enough of these Beckers. I just bought a package deal from Skystorm which has.... yet another BK14....lol. I do have pans for the 2nd one though. I think I may need a 2nd job.

I'm still fairly new to the Beckers, but in addition to all of the things that have already been said about the knives themselves, the support on this forum really got my attention. It's especially cool that Ethan himself drops in to answer questions and share. It just doesn't get much better than that.

Welcome guys. Yep...that's how it starts. Ya' buy one..then next thing you know..ur saving ur lunch money, doing overtime at work without being asked, or selling stuff that you thought you needed just to get another Becker knife. Then comes the deal making with the wife or gf...as in "if I get the bk2 or the king (aka bk9)..you can get some shoes of equal or lesser value" ! I know this because my addiction started with an edc called the bk11 and I am not ashamed that I have done all of the above. So once again...welcome guys !

This is the second most expensive forum i have found. The first one was a POWER WAGON forum. :foot: Yup, that one cost me a bunch ! :D

*lol*

If you want to save money, skip the safe queens. :D
You need a 5 as a user anyway. and a 4. and a...

Welcome aboard. I just got into the Becker knife thing myself. It's great to have so much knowledge here on this forum. The people on here are more than willing to help feed that fire.

BK-11 inbound. It was for Hanna, so being new here, I felt I should contribute. Also a BK-2 is on it's way. Things feel right in the universe....

Let me clarify the 'safe queen' thing. I don't actually have a safe, I have a big cardboard box with many smaller boxes in it, some labeled Spyderco, some Microtech, some Benchmade.... you get the idea. For use, or trade, or sale at some other time. To me, it's like a box of money. To my wife, it's a big box of crazy.

I'm hooked too! Lol

Beckers just seem to be the knives for people who enjoy using their knives

Welcome guys. Whisperer forget about buying Beckers to keep in a box. They'll just revolt and cut thier way out, drink all of your beer and then have thier way with the lady of the house. Take that money and buy a 16 and a 5 to go with the rest of the users.

oh, i can show you some expensive forums :)

makes buy a complate KaBar Becker set look like ... peanuts! seriously. that's less than a Knight's AR, even twice over, and even then, skies the limit.

you got money, someone has something for you. no matter how much money you got ;)
