Put the blade on the other end of the shotgun, and that might actually be feasible... As is though, one swing and your gun wouldn't shoot right ever again :p

Rules for safely chopping firewood; Always assume your axe is loaded. Never point your axe at anything you don't intend to chop. Keep you finger out of the trigger guard while chopping. Be sure your chopping block has an NIJ rating at least as high as the caliber of your axe.

Sure as shoot someone will suggest this contraption can be used to break locks when all the ammo is expended. ...and you no longer value the 'handle'.
